Panama 70.3 - Jonathan Story racing fast & giving back

What an exciting day it was tracking the live coverage and tweets of the inaugural Ironman Panama 70.3 this past Sunday (2/12/12).  This event marked the comeback of seven-time Tour de France winner, Lance Armstrong to the professional sport of triathlon. One of our newest teammates, Jonathan Story, kicked off his triathlon racing season at this exciting event and posted a solid performance. His time of 4:48.31 (with a 1:30 half marathon split!) placed him 12th in his age group (M30-34) and in the top 7% of all age group males. Way to go Story!

Jonathan Story and Chris Lieto, professional triathlete & More Than Sport Founder

But his impressive race results don't stop there. Post race, Story joined the efforts of professional triathlete Chris Lieto and his foundation More Than Sport (http://morethansport.org) and helped build homes for flood victims in the Darien Gap in the Rep. of Panama following the race. What an incredible way to give back to the communities that welcome us all with open arms on race day.

ABOUT MORE THAN SPORT

More than Sport began with the vision of Chris Lieto, Ironman champion, world record holder in cycling, and 3 time triathlon champion, who wanted to do more with his athletic ability than simply compete. Simply said: Chris founded More Than Sport to provide a way for athletes to invest in communities of need, particularly those we compete in.
We are able to improve the lives of children and communities around the world, when we become athletes who live for more than sport.
“MORE THAN SPORT ATHLETES DON’T JUST RACE TO WIN.

WE SEEK TO SET A PACE TO HELP THOSE THE WORLD FORGETS.
